MEMBERSHIP
Welcome To The Family
"Membership is the cement that holds us all together."
MEMBERSHIP
At the Fount, we distinguish between attendance and membership. Attendance makes you a welcome visitor, while membership brings you into the family. If the Bible is the cornerstone of our church, then membership is the cement that holds us all together. Christ and Paul pointed us toward membership for our encouragement, protection, and instruction. We seek to carry out this vision through our four-step process.
1. Membership Class
All prospective members must attend our Membership Matters class. The curriculum is composed of four core classes, each comprising six one-hour classes:
- Knowing God
- Life Together
- Gospel for Life
- Bible for Life
Classes are offered periodically throughout the year in a Friday night/Saturday morning format and weekly on Sunday mornings. Upon completion, those who attended all six classes are able but not obligated to sign up for a membership interview, the second step of the membership process.
2. Baptism
The second step to becoming a member at The Fount is to confirm that you are baptised as a believer, whether with us or elsewhere. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you would love to be baptized.

3. Membership Interview
In a 1-hour meeting, the prospective member meets with an elder to provide basic biographical information and recount God’s converting work in their life. The prospective member would then sign the statement of faith and church covenant, and the application would go to the elders.
4. Membership Affirmation:
Participating in a Covenant Affirmation during our strategic meetings is the final step toward membership. We welcome new members twice a year. At these meetings, each person joining affirms the Church Covenant before the congregation and is officially received into membership at the Fount.
We list the names of potential new members before each Covenant Affirmation and ask that anyone with concerns about someone proceeding toward membership contact us as quickly as possible.
If you have questions about the membership process, please get in touch with us.
